Beautiful Skin Treatments
Introduction
Skin Analysis is the process of identifying underlying (and some more easily seen) skin conditions and concerns, usually done by using some sort of analysis machine. The goal is to identify your skin type, texture and characteristics so that a treatment plan can be created that will best suit your exact needs.
At Dr Luci Clinic, a professional skin analysis is the first step for all patients when seeking treatment. We never recommend any procedure or treatment without first getting to understand your skin in greater detail.
What Is The Observ 520X?
The Observ 520x is an industry-leading skin analysis tool that allows dermatologists and other skin professionals to get a detailed understanding of your skin. It is our skin analyser of choice at Dr Luci Clinic.
How Does Skin Analysis Work?
At Dr Luci Clinic, we use the Observ 520x, where you place your chin on a stand within a semi-circular unit and 9 photos will be taken, using different lights to help identify different skin conditions.
The Observ Skin Analysis will scan your skin and generate a number of images that allows us to examine:
- Wrinkles & fine lines
- Sebum (oil) content of your skin
- Pigmentation, such as freckles and sunspots
- Skin texture & pore size
- Moisture content
- Skin elasticity
- Overall skin tone & skin health
Once the images are generated, we can discuss the findings with you immediately and put together a treatment plan tailored specifically to your conditions and concerns.
Why Is Skin Analysis Important?
Did you know your skin is your body’s largest organ? It does an amazing job protecting your body from infections, allowing you to feel different sensations and interact safely with the world, and can play an important role in our mental health, since our skin is what the world sees – it is our external representation of ourselves.
You skin undergoes an enormous amount of stress and strain every day, even if you don’t realise it. So many factors can affect your skin’s heath. including:
- Stress
- Sleep and fatigue
- Allergies
- Sun exposure
- Pollution
- Temperature changes
- Excessive sweat
- Smoking
A skin analysis, using the right technology, is a vital step your skin health professional will take to help identify any underlying skin concerns and conditions. By arming ourselves with such knowledge we can put together a treatment plan that’s perfect for you and your skin.
What Are The Benefits Of Skin Analysis?
Detailed Understanding of Skin Health
It’s hard to overlook the biggest benefit of having a skin analysis – getting a detailed understanding of your exact skin health. With the Observ 520x you’ll have expert analysis of your skin, and be shown the conditions affecting you.
Expert Treatment Plans
Once we know exactly what is affecting your skin, and what you are unhappy about, we can put together a treatment plan perfectly suited to you.
Avoid Harmful Products
Certain skin conditions can be aggravated by using the wrong skin products. Once you know exactly what you are dealing with, you’ll be able to avoid any harmful products that may make your skin worse.
Be Proactive
The Observ 520x is a great predictive tool that can show the early signs of skin conditions, meaning you can take proactive steps to solve any problems before they arise.

What Is Laser Genesis?
Laser Genesis is a unique, revolutionary laser skin treatment designed to treat some of the most common skin concerns.
Laser Genesis is scientifically proven to stimulate new collagen and elastin and is designed for skin revitalisation for all skin colours, all year round. This laser skin rejuvenation treatment will provide you with improved skin structures and density, resulting in more plump-looking skin.
What Conditions Does Laser Genesis Treat?
- Rosacea
- Redness
- Fine Lines & Wrinkles
- Acne Scarring
- Pigmentation and Skin Tone
- Overall Face and Neck Skin Health
How Does Laser Genesis Work?
Laser Genesis works by heating the dermis, the inner layer of your two main layers of skin, to stimulate collagen production. This helps plump the skin and can reduce the signs of aging, such as wrinkles and fine lines.
The laser can also be used to make blood vessels narrower, which can be helpful in fighting redness and rosacea.
You will experience a gentle warming of your skin’s surface during the procedure. Patients often describe the treatment as relaxing and therapeutic. The whole procedure is usually done in under 30 minutes.
How Long Do Laser Genesis Treatments Last?
The great thing about Laser Genesis is the fast results – after just one treatment you’ll notice brighter, more youthful looking skin. Many patients often comment that because they see fast results they feel more comfortable booking in for future treatment.
Every person will have a different treatment plan, but generally a series of six to twelve Laser Genesis treatments are recommended to achieve an optimal outcome. Major improvements are gradual and will be seen over a period of few treatments. Results will continue to improve for months after the last treatment. To sustain results over time, ongoing maintenance treatments are encouraged.
How Can I Maximise My Results?
Laser Genesis can help you achieve younger, healthier looking skin when performed as a standalone treatment, but for maximum results you need a personalised, tailored treatment plan. At Le Sands Clinic, we offer every new client a free advanced skin analysis so we can see the full picture of your skin health.
We complement our extensive skills and knowledge with industry-leading technology to provide real insight into your skin type, any underlying conditions and characteristics, which means we can recommended a complete treatment plan with the right combination of procedures to help you achieve your goals.
Your personal treatment plan is just that, yours, and personal. Book an initial consultation with one of our skin care and laser treatment experts now by calling 02 9567 0399 or email us info@drluci.com.au
What Are The Risks Of Laser Genesis?
Because laser genesis is a non-invasive treatment, there are significantly fewer risks than more intensive treatment, and the severity of the risks is also reduced.
However, we do believe all our clients are made aware of the risks of laser genesis:
- Discomfort: It is possible for laser genesis to be painful, but many of our clients report feeling a warm, calming sensation rather than discomfort.
- Redness/Swelling: This is a very normal response, although it is not very common. Expect any swelling to go down within 1-2 hours.
As with any cosmetic procedure, there is the possibility of more serious risk such as infection or bruising, but these are both exceedingly rare with laser genesis.
Is There Any Downtime?
Because the Laser Genesis procedure is non invasive, you may notice a slight redness immediately after treatment which will resolve within a few hours. Since there is no downtime, you can apply an SPF 30+ of higher sunscreen and makeup and return to your normal daily activities immediately. It is strongly recommended you avoid direct sunlight for 2 weeks after treatment, and always apply a good quality sunscreen.
Does Laser Genesis Really Work?
Yes, laser skin treatments really do work. In 2011, a group of researchers decided to ask 50 people who had a laser treatment how satisfied they were with their results and they found that “97%, 100%, and 98% of volunteers reported satisfaction with the improvement of dilated pores, skin texture, and wrinkles, respectively”.
Not only that, but the researchers also used computer assessments to see if there was any improvement in the subjects skin, with all assessments showing significant improvements after laser treatment.
Finally, the researchers also concluded that not a single study volunteer reported any post-treatment issues or problems.
Is Laser Genesis Better Than Micro Needling?
Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), involves the use of tiny needles to penetrate the top layer of skin, causing very small injuries that the body will repair itself by producing new skin cells. This can help fight the signs of aging, as well as some common skin concerns that can also be treated by laser genesis.
In our opinion, neither treatment is better than the other, they are just suited for slightly different needs and people. For example, someone with a fear of needles would be better suited to laser genesis. The biggest difference is microneedling is slightly more invasive than laser genesis.
Is Laser Genesis Better Than Chemical Peels?
A chemical peel is a skincare treatment where a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the top layers. This promotes new skin growth and can fight the signs of aging and some skin conditions.
There is some overlap between laser genesis and chemical peels – both promote new skin growth by removing old skin and they can both be used to treat common skin conditions such as acne and pigmentation.
The main difference between them is that laser genesis tends to be ‘controllable’ in that we can target specific areas with more accuracy. You’ll also find the results from laser genesis are greater than from a chemical peel.
Is Laser Genesis Better Than Fraxel?
Fraxel is also a laser skin treatment, but unlike laser genesis, fraxel causes micro-injuries (similar to microneedling) that triggers the body to repair the area by producing new skin cells. Fraxel is often more painful than laser genesis, although some skincare professionals do believe fraxel results are better than laser genesis, but the downside is that fraxel has a longer recovery and downtime, whereas genesis could be done in your lunchbreak.

What Is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser hair reduction treatment works by emitting pulses of laser light to the hair follicle and destroying it, without damaging the surrounding skin. Our solutions uses longer wavelength light which has been proven to treat the removal of hair more effectively than more traditional methods or older type technology.
What Should I Consider With Laser Hair Removal?
We provide a premium hair removal service; treatment for all skin types which permanently reduces facial and body hair from all areas for both men and women.
How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?
The hair growth cycle describes the 3 stages of hair growth. These are Anagen, catagen, and Telogen. The Anagen stage is the initial growth stage, and can last up to 6 years, but this depends upon each individual and genetics. The Catagen stage is an intermediate stage and lasts up to 4 weeks. During this time, the hair follicle changes and tries to renew itself. The final stage, the Telogen stage, is the dormant stage of growth, and precedes shedding and the possible growth of new hair.
Is Laser Hair Removal Painful?
You may experience some minor discomfort
Is There Any Downtime?
Generally there is no downtime. Clients are advised regarding the correct care of the treated area to minimise complications such as scarring and speed up healing. Sunscreen should be worn on the treated area to protect new skin.

What Is Pico Genesis?
Pico Genesis is a cosmetic laser treatment that uses short pulses of light energy to improve the appearance of sun damage, age spots, freckles, and other pigmented lesions. The treatment works by breaking down the melanin in the affected skin, which is then gradually eliminated by the body. It is minimally invasive and requires no downtime, making it a popular choice for people looking to improve the appearance of their skin without undergoing surgery.
What Conditions Does Pico Genesis Treat?
People opt for Pico Genesis laser treatment for various reasons, including:
- Pigmented Lesions: To reduce the appearance of age spots, sun damage, freckles, and other pigmented lesions.
- Skin Rejuvenation: To improve the overall appearance of the skin, making it look brighter, clearer, and more even-toned.
- Acne Scarring: To reduce the appearance of acne scars and improve skin texture.
- Fine Lines and Wrinkles: To reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and to improve skin firmness and elasticity.
- Hyperpigmentation: To reduce the appearance of dark spots and hyperpigmentation, and to even out skin tone.
How Does Pico Genesis Work?
Pico Genesis works by using short pulses of light energy to break down the melanin (pigment) in the affected skin. The laser emits energy in picoseconds (trillionths of a second), which is much shorter than traditional laser treatments. This allows the energy to penetrate the skin more effectively and target the melanin without damaging the surrounding tissue.
During the treatment, the laser is directed at the affected area, where it delivers high-intensity light energy to the melanin. This causes the melanin to break down into smaller particles, which are gradually eliminated by the body. The result is a reduction in the appearance of pigmented lesions, and a more even, brighter, and clearer skin tone.
How Many Pico Genesis treatments Do I Need?
The number of Pico Genesis treatments needed for optimal results can vary from person to person and is dependent on several factors, including the individual’s skin type, skin condition, and the severity of the pigmentation.
Typically, a series of 2-3 Pico Genesis treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart is recommended for best results. In some cases, additional treatments may be needed to achieve the desired results. During your consultation we’ll explain our recommended treatment plan to help you achieve maximum results based on your skin concerns and goals.
It’s also important to keep in mind that while Pico Genesis can effectively improve the appearance of pigmented lesions, fine lines, and wrinkles, it may not completely eliminate these skin concerns. Maintenance treatments may be needed to maintain the results and prevent the reappearance of pigmentation.
How Long Do Pico Genesis Treatments Last?
The duration of Pico Genesis results can vary from person to person and is dependent on several factors, including the individual’s skin type, skin condition, and the severity of the pigmentation.
In general, Pico Genesis results can last for several months to a year or more, with the average being 6-9 months. However, it’s important to keep in mind that results may not be permanent, and touch-up treatments may be needed to maintain the desired results. Additionally, sun exposure, hormonal changes, and aging can also impact the longevity of Pico Genesis results.
To maintain the results of Pico Genesis, it’s important to protect the skin from sun exposure and to follow a good skincare regimen, including the use of a daily broad-spectrum sunscreen, to prevent the reappearance of pigmentation. It’s also recommended to schedule follow-up appointments with us to evaluate your skin and determine if additional treatments are needed.
How Can I Maximise My Pico Genesis Treatment Results?
PICO Genesis can help you achieve younger, healthier looking skin when performed as a standalone treatment, but for maximum results you need a personalised, tailored treatment plan.

Most people are able to return to their normal activities immediately after the treatment, although it’s important to protect the treated skin from sun exposure and to follow a good skincare regimen to promote healing and minimize the risk of complications.
It’s important to follow the aftercare instructions provided by skincare professional to ensure optimal results and to minimize the risk of complications. We can also provide you with specific recommendations based on your individual skin type and condition.
Is Pico Genesis Better Than Micro Needling?
Pico Genesis uses short bursts of laser energy to target pigmented lesions and other skin imperfections, making it an effective option for reducing the appearance of sun damage, age spots, and other types of hyperpigmentation.
Microneedling, on the other hand, involves using small needles to create microscopic channels in the skin, which stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. This makes microneedling an effective option for improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, and other skin imperfections.
It’s not necessarily a matter of one treatment being “better” than the other, as both Pico Genesis and microneedling have their own unique benefits and limitations. The best choice depends on the individual’s specific skin concerns and goals.
Is Pico Genesis Better Than Chemical Peels?
Chemical peels, on the other hand, involve applying a chemical solution to the skin to remove the outer layer of dead skin cells, revealing smoother, brighter, and more even-toned skin. Chemical peels can be used to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, hyperpigmentation, and acne. The depth of the peel can be adjusted to meet the individual’s specific needs and skin concerns.
Both Pico Genesis and chemical peels can be effective in improving the appearance of the skin, and the best choice will depend on the individual’s specific skin concerns and goals.
Is Pico Genesis Better Than Laser Genesis?
The effectiveness of PICO Genesis and Laser Genesis for skin rejuvenation and treatment of skin conditions depends on several factors, including the individual’s skin type, the severity of the condition, and the expertise of the practitioner performing the treatment. Both PICO Genesis and Laser Genesis use laser technology to improve skin quality, but they work differently and may be better suited for different skin concerns. PICO Genesis uses ultra-short pulses of laser energy to break up pigment and target deeper tissue, making it more effective for pigmentation issues and scars. On the other hand, Laser Genesis uses gentle, non-invasive laser energy to heat the skin and stimulate collagen production, making it a better option for addressing fine lines and wrinkles. Ultimately, it’s best to consult a licensed professional to determine which treatment is best for your individual needs.

What Is Skin Needling?
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a cosmetic procedure that involves using a device with fine needles to create tiny punctures in the skin. The idea behind microneedling is that the injury caused by the needles triggers the skin’s natural healing response, which leads to the production of collagen and elastin, resulting in improved skin texture and firmness. Microneedling is often used to treat acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and large pores. It is a non-invasive procedure and can be done in the clinic Dermapen.
What Is Dermapen 4?
Dermapen 4 sets a new standard in skin rejuvenation and you’ll see visible results after just one session as treatment stimulates your skin’s production of collagen and elastin.
Dermapen 4 is currently the leading skin needling device. It is TGA approved and made and developed in Australia. The device is surgical grade stainless steel that utilises 16 fine needles. The design of the Dermapen 4 means less trauma to the skin when compared to other needling devices, giving a more effective, efficient and safer treatment for all skin types.
What Skin Conditions Can Skin Needling With Dermapen 4 Treat?
Microneedling is a versatile cosmetic procedure that can be used to treat a variety of skin conditions. Some of the most common conditions that can be treated with microneedling include:
- Acne scars: Microneedling can help to break up scar tissue and stimulate the growth of new, healthy skin, which can reduce the appearance of acne scars.
- Fine lines and wrinkles: The procedure can stimulate collagen production, which can help to plump up the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Hyperpigmentation: Microneedling can help to lighten dark spots and even out the skin tone, which can improve the appearance of hyperpigmentation.
- Large pores: The procedure can help to reduce the size of large pores and improve the overall appearance of the skin.
- Stretch marks: The procedure can help to reduce the appearance of stretch marks by stimulating collagen production and thickening the skin.
- Alopecia: Some studies have shown that microneedling can be beneficial for people with alopecia, a hair loss condition, by stimulating hair growth.
- Cellulite: Some studies have shown that microneedling can be beneficial for people with cellulite, by stimulating collagen production and thickening the skin.
It’s important to note that the results of microneedling vary among individuals and that multiple sessions may be needed to achieve desired results. Always consult with a professional before making any decision.
What Are The Risks Of Skin Needling With Dermapen 4?
Microneedling is generally considered a safe procedure, but as with any cosmetic procedure, there are some risks and potential complications to be aware of. These include:
- Infection: There is a small risk of infection if the needles used in the procedure are not properly sterilized.
- Bleeding: The procedure can cause some bleeding, especially if the needles are set at a high depth setting.
- Bruising: The procedure can cause some bruising and redness, but this should resolve within a few days.
- Allergic reactions: Some people may have an allergic reaction to the products used during the procedure.
- Scarring: In rare cases, microneedling can lead to scarring, especially if the needles are set at a high depth setting or if the procedure is not performed correctly.
- Changes in skin color: There is a risk of changes in skin color, especially in people with darker skin tones.
What Happens During Skin Needling With Dermapen 4?
During a microneedling procedure, a device that has fine needles attached to it is used to create small punctures in the skin. The device can be a manual roller (dermaroller) or an electronic device (dermapen) and the needles can vary in length and thickness. The depth of the needle penetration can also be adjusted depending on the area being treated and the individual’s skin type.
Here is the general process of a microneedling procedure:
- Cleanse the skin: The skin will be thoroughly cleaned to remove any makeup, oils, or other impurities.
- Apply a numbing cream: A numbing cream may be applied to reduce any discomfort during the procedure.
- Begin the treatment: The device will be rolled or pressed over the skin, creating the small punctures. The needles will be moved across the skin in different directions to cover the entire area being treated.
- Apply a serum or moisturizer: After the treatment, a serum or moisturizer may be applied to the skin to help hydrate and soothe the skin.
- Aftercare instructions: The professional will give you instructions on how to take care of your skin after the procedure, including avoiding sun exposure, not using exfoliating products, and not wearing makeup for a certain period of time.
The procedure usually takes 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the area being treated. After the procedure, the skin may be red and swollen for a few days, but this should subside within a week.
How Long Will My Skin Needling Treatment Last?
The length of time that microneedling results will last can vary depending on a number of factors, including the individual’s skin type, the depth of the needle penetration, the number of treatments received, and the person’s skincare regimen.
On average, the results of a single microneedling treatment can last for several months. However, for optimal results, it is generally recommended that a series of treatments be done, with each session spaced 4-6 weeks apart. The results of these multiple treatments can last for up to a year or more.
It’s important to note that while the procedure can stimulate collagen production, it does not halt the natural aging process, so maintenance treatments may be needed to maintain the results. Additionally, protecting your skin from sun damage, using a good skincare regimen and eating a healthy diet can help to prolong the results of the procedure.
What Is Recovery Like After Skin Needling With Dermapen 4?
Recovery after a microneedling procedure can vary depending on the individual and the depth of the needle penetration. Generally, the skin may be red and swollen for a few days after the procedure, but this should subside within a week. Some people may experience mild discomfort or itching, but this can usually be managed with over-the-counter pain medication.
It’s important to follow the aftercare instructions provided by the professional who performed the procedure, which may include:
- Keeping the skin moisturized: It’s important to keep the skin hydrated to help promote healing and prevent dryness.
- Avoiding sun exposure: Sun exposure can increase the risk of hyperpigmentation, so it’s important to protect the skin from the sun and avoid tanning beds for at least a week after the procedure.
- Not using exfoliating products: Avoid using any products that contain exfoliating agents, such as alpha-hydroxy acids or beta-hydroxy acids, as these can cause irritation and delay the healing process.
- Not wearing makeup: Avoid wearing makeup for at least 24 hours after the procedure to allow the skin to breathe and heal.
- Avoiding strenuous activities: Avoid activities that may cause sweating, as sweat can cause irritation and prolong the healing process.
It’s important to be gentle with your skin during the recovery period, and to avoid picking at any scabs or crusts that may form on the skin. In case of any adverse reaction, please consult the professional who did the procedure.

What is PRP?
PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma and PRP has been traditionally used by doctors treating sporting injuries. It is derived from the individual’s own blood. The patient’s red blood cells are removed then the platelets are separated using centrifugal force from specialist centrifuge equipment. Platelet-rich plasma stimulates cell growth and this results in a much better healing response for certain skin and scarring treatments.
What Should I Consider With PRP?
PRP stimulates healing and soft tissue growth. Certain protocols must be met in the preparation of PRP and this can only be done by someone that not only has the correct medical equipment to do so but also is senior medically qualified.
How Many PRP Treatments Will I Need?
If you are interested in having this treatment, we advise that you are well-hydrated, and of general good health. Those who suffer from skin allergies, cancers, undergoing chemotherapy, severe metabolic disorders may not be suitable for this treatment. At this consultation, we will formulate your personal treatment plan and courses / treatments required.
Are There Any Risks With PRP?
PRP involves the removal of some of your blood and the blood treated with a centrifugal machine. Whilst there is little risk of this procedure, it does involve the removal of blood, and infections could result
Is There Any Downtime With PRP?
You may find some redness, bruising or swelling around the injection site, but this should subside quickly after treatment.
What Should I Do Next?
As with any advanced treatment, PRP should only be practiced by senior medical officers, such as Dr Saliba. What Is Tattoo Removal?
Laser tattoo removal is the reduction and removal of unwanted permanent tattoos on your skin. Laser beams are attracted to the colour of the tattoo ink. Different wavelengths or sizes of laser beams are attracted to different colours. The beams can be delivered at different speeds. There are many lasers available on the market that can remove tattoo ink. Some are better at it than others. Le Sands has acquired new and effective laser technology to remove tattoos.
How Does Laser Tattoo Removal Work?
CUTERA Enlighten (available at Dr Luci Clinic) delivers very fast and short laser pulses into the skin. These laser pulses cause the ink particles to expand and shatter into tiny particles of ink. The particles of ink are then cleaned up and removed from the body by the lymphatic system therefore removing the ink and fading the tattoo further with each treatment session.
How Many Sessions Do I Need?
CUTERA Enlighten technology allows us to remove your tattoo in 40% less sessions than traditional laser tattoo removal. The number of sessions required depends on the colour, quantity, quality, and depth of placement of the tattoo ink in the skin as well as the age of the tattoo and the individual response of each client. The number of sessions ranges between 3 up to 10. The sessions are generally 6 weeks apart. This allows the body to remove the ink so far treated and to heal.
How Can I Care For My Skin After Laser Tattoo Removal?
Proper aftercare is essential after laser tattoo removal to promote optimal healing and minimise the risk of complications, such as infection or scarring. Here are some general guidelines to follow:
- Keep the treated area clean and dry: Avoid exposing the treated area to water, sweat, or any other moisture for at least 24-48 hours after treatment. After this period, gently clean the area with mild soap and water, pat dry with a clean towel, and apply a thin layer of antibiotic ointment.
- Avoid sun exposure: The treated area will be sensitive to the sun’s UV rays, so it is essential to protect it from direct sunlight or tanning beds. If you must go outside, wear loose-fitting clothing that covers the treated area, apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30, and reapply every two hours.
- Avoid picking or scratching: The treated area may scab or crust over, and it is essential to avoid picking or scratching it as this can increase the risk of infection and scarring.
- Moisturisze the treated area: Keeping the treated area moisturised can help promote healing and reduce itching. Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturiser that is free of any abrasive or irritating ingredients.
- Avoid strenuous activities: Avoid any activities that may cause sweating or rubbing of the treated area, such as exercise or heavy lifting, for at least 24-48 hours after treatment.
- Follow up with your practitioner: Your practitioner will provide you with specific aftercare instructions based on your individual needs and the type of laser used. Be sure to follow up with your practitioner as scheduled and report any concerns or complications.
Overall, proper aftercare is essential after laser tattoo removal to promote optimal healing and minimise the risk of complications. Follow these guidelines and any additional instructions provided by your practitioner to ensure the best possible outcome.
How Long Do The Effects Of Laser Tattoo Removal Last?
Laser tattoo removal is a highly effective method for removing tattoos, but the longevity of its effects depends on various factors such as the size, color, location, and age of the tattoo, as well as the individual’s skin type and immune system.
In general, the effects of laser tattoo removal are considered long-lasting, and in many cases, tattoos can be completely removed with multiple sessions. However, some individuals may experience a slight degree of color or shadow remaining in the treated area.
After each session, the treated area will experience some redness, swelling, and discomfort, which typically subside within a few days to a week. It is essential to follow the aftercare instructions provided by your practitioner to ensure optimal healing and minimise the risk of complications.
Once the treatment is completed, it is crucial to protect the treated area from the sun and avoid any abrasive or irritating products. It is also essential to maintain a healthy lifestyle and avoid smoking or excessive alcohol consumption, as these factors can affect the skin’s healing and regeneration process.
Overall, the effects of laser tattoo removal can be long-lasting, but it is essential to work with a qualified practitioner who can assess your individual needs and provide you with realistic expectations for your specific case.
What Does The Skin Look Like After Laser Tattoo Removal?
Immediately after the laser treatment, the skin in the treated area may appear red, swollen, and slightly raised, similar to a mild sunburn. Some individuals may also experience mild bruising or blistering, which is a normal part of the healing process.
Over the next few days to a week, the redness, swelling, and discomfort should gradually subside, and the treated area may begin to scab or crust over. It is essential to avoid picking or scratching the scabs, as this can increase the risk of scarring and infection.
As the healing process continues, the scabs will naturally fall off, and the skin underneath may appear lighter or darker than the surrounding skin. This is normal and typically resolves within a few weeks to months as the skin regenerates and heals.
In some cases, the skin in the treated area may appear slightly textured or have a slightly different texture than the surrounding skin. However, with proper aftercare and multiple laser sessions, the skin’s appearance should continue to improve, and the tattoo should gradually fade over time.
Overall, the skin’s appearance after laser tattoo removal can vary depending on various factors, but with proper care and multiple treatments, the skin should return to its natural appearance.
Does Laser Tattoo Removal Leave A Scar?
In some cases, laser tattoo removal may cause scarring, particularly in individuals with a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring or who have undergone previous laser treatments or surgeries in the treated area. Additionally, if the treated area becomes infected or is not properly cared for, it can increase the risk of scarring.
To minimise the risk of scarring, it is essential to work with a qualified and experienced practitioner who can assess your individual needs and provide you with realistic expectations for your specific case. It is also essential to follow the aftercare instructions provided by your practitioner and avoid any abrasive or irritating products in the treated area.
If scarring does occur, there are several treatment options available, including topical creams, injectable treatments, and surgical options. However, it is best to work with a qualified dermatologist or plastic surgeon, such as Dr Lucia Saliba, to determine the best course of action for your specific case.
Is Laser Tattoo Removal Painful?
Unfortunately tattoo removal can be painful. At Dr Luci Clinic measures are taken to minimise this discomfort. Topical anesthetic is routinely used.

What Are Lip Filler Injections?
Lip filler injections are a type of cosmetic procedure in which a gel-like substance is injected into the lips to enhance their size, shape, and overall appearance.
Hyaluronic acid, a naturally occuring compound that helps the skin retain moisture and create volume, is the most popular filler material used for lip augmentation. Collagen and fat are two other fillers that can be employed.
Lip fillers are intended to give patients bigger, plumper lips that look natural and enhance their facial characteristics.
The operation can be done as an outpatient procedure and is normally carried out by a certified medical expert. At Dr Luci Clinic we offer lip filler injections by prior appointment. Always know who is injecting you
What Are Lip Fillers Made Of?
There are several types of lip fillers, each with its own unique characteristics, pros, and cons. The most commonly used fillers for lip augmentation are:
- Hyaluronic Acid Fillers: Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the body that helps to retain moisture and add volume to the skin. It is the most commonly used filler material for lip augmentation because it is safe, effective, and produces natural-looking results.
- Collagen Fillers: Collagen is a protein that is found in the body and helps to maintain the skin’s elasticity and strength. Collagen fillers are made from bovine or human collagen and can be used to enhance the lips. However, they are less commonly used today due to the availability of newer, more advanced fillers.
- Fat Fillers: Fat fillers involve taking fat from another part of the body and injecting it into the lips to add volume. This type of filler is less commonly used because it is more invasive and requires a surgical procedure.
- Synthetic Fillers: Synthetic fillers are made from man-made substances that are not naturally found in the body. They are less commonly used in lip augmentation because they can have a higher risk of side effects and may not produce natural-looking results. Some examples of synthetic fillers include silicone and polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA).
What Are The Benefits Of Lip Fillers?
Lip filler injections can offer several benefits, although these benefits are not necessarily guaranteed, but include:
- Increased volume: Lip fillers can add volume to the lips, making them look fuller and plumper. This can enhance the appearance of thin or flat lips.
- Improved symmetry: Lip fillers can also improve the symmetry of the lips, making them look more balanced and proportionate.
- Enhanced lip shape: Lip fillers can be used to enhance the shape of the lips, such as defining the Cupid’s bow or creating a more pronounced vermillion border.
- Reduced fine lines and wrinkles: Some lip fillers contain hyaluronic acid, which can help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth.
- Quick and convenient: Lip filler injections are a quick and convenient way to enhance the lips, as the procedure usually only takes a few minutes to complete.
- Minimal downtime: After the procedure, patients can usually return to their normal activities immediately, as there is typically minimal downtime associated with lip fillers.
- Customizable results: Lip filler injections can be customized to meet the individual’s specific goals and preferences, as the amount and placement of the filler can be tailored to achieve the desired results.
Overall, lip filler injections can be a safe and effective way to enhance the appearance of the lips and achieve a more youthful, rejuvenated look.
How Are Lip Fillers Injected?
Consultation: The first step is to schedule a consultation with our team at Dr Luci Clinic. During your consultation we will assess your lips, discuss their goals and expectations, and determine if you are a good candidate for lip fillers, or if another treatment is more suitable.
Preparation: Before the injection, we clean the treatment area and may apply a numbing cream or local anesthesia to minimize any discomfort during the procedure.
Injection: Dr Saliba will then use a fine needle to inject the filler into specific areas of the lips to achieve the desired result. The injection process usually takes less than an hour to complete.
Aftercare: After the injection, you may experience some swelling, redness, or bruising in the treatment area. We’ll talk you through the aftercare instructions, such as applying ice to the area to reduce swelling or avoiding certain activities for a period of time. You may also need to schedule a follow-up appointment to assess the results.
It is important to choose a qualified, experienced medical professional to perform the procedure, such as Dr Saliba. To begin discussing your aesthetic goals, book a consultation today.
How Can I Maximise My Recovery?
Recovering from lip fillers typically involves taking care of the treatment area and following any aftercare instructions provided by the medical professional who performed the procedure. Here are some general tips on how to recover from lip fillers:
- Apply ice: Applying ice to the treatment area can help reduce swelling and bruising. You can apply a cold compress or ice pack to the lips for 10-15 minutes at a time, several times a day for the first 24-48 hours after the injection.
- Avoid certain activities: Avoid strenuous exercise, exposure to heat or sun, and drinking alcohol for at least 24 hours after the injection. This can help reduce the risk of swelling and bruising.
- Avoid touching or massaging the lips: For at least 24 hours after the injection, avoid touching or massaging the lips. This can cause the filler to shift or migrate to other areas of the lips, which can affect the results.
- Take pain medication, if necessary: Over-the-counter pain medication, such as ibuprofen, can help alleviate any discomfort or pain after the injection. Follow the instructions on the package and consult with your medical professional if you have any questions.
- Book a follow up appointment: It is important to schedule a follow-up appointment to assess the results and address any concerns.
It is important to carefully follow all aftercare instructions provided to ensure the best possible results and minimize the risk of complications.
How Soon Will I See Results?
Even though you might start to notice the effects of your lip filler injection right away, the complete effects might not become apparent for a few days to a week. It’s crucial to be patient and wait for the swelling to go down because the initial bruising and swelling can make the lips appear bigger than they actually are.
It is important to remember that lip fillers are not permanent and the results will eventually fade over time. If you wish to maintain the results, you may need to schedule touch-up treatments or additional injections. Be sure to discuss your goals and expectations with us during your consultation to determine the best treatment plan for you.
How Long Do Results Last?
The type of filler used and the person’s metabolism can affect how long lip fillers last. But the majority of lip fillers only last six months to a year. Hyaluronic acid-based lip fillers can sometimes last up to 12 to 18 months. After that, the lips will gradually regain their normal size and form as the filler progressively degrades and is absorbed by the body.
The quantity of filler used, the manner in which it was injected, and the patient’s metabolism are all variables that might determine how long lip fillers last. The filler may be broken down more quickly in those with faster metabolisms or those who are more physically active.
To maintain the results of lip fillers, patients may need to schedule touch-up treatments or additional injections.
What Are The Side Effects Of Lip Fillers?
Like any cosmetic procedure, lip fillers can cause side effects. Some of the common side effects of lip fillers include:
- Swelling: Swelling is a common side effect of lip fillers and can last for a few days to a week after the injection. The amount of swelling can vary depending on the individual and the type of filler used.
- Bruising: Bruising can also occur after lip fillers and can take a few days to a week to heal. The risk of bruising can be minimized by avoiding certain medications or supplements that can increase the risk of bleeding.
- Redness: The injection site may appear red or inflamed for a few days after the procedure. This is usually temporary and will resolve on its own.
- Lumps or bumps: In some cases, the filler may form small lumps or bumps in the treatment area. These can usually be massaged or smoothed out by the provider, but in rare cases, they may need to be dissolved.
- Allergic reactions: Allergic reactions to fillers are rare but can occur. Symptoms may include itching, redness, or swelling at the injection site. If you experience any symptoms of an allergic reaction, contact your medical professional right away.
- Infection: In rare cases, lip fillers can cause an infection. Symptoms may include pain, redness, swelling, or fever. If you experience any symptoms of an infection, contact your medical professional right away.

What Are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are a type of nonsurgical cosmetic procedure that are used to plump up wrinkles, smooth lines, and restore volume in your face. People often choose dermal fillers to enhance their facial features or gain a more youthful appearance. They can plump thin lips, enhance shallow contours, soften facial creases, remove wrinkles, and improve the appearance of scars.
How Do They Work?
Dermal fillers are administered through a series of injections. The injections are placed in the desired area and the filler is slowly injected. Each filler works differently, but the most common type of filler, hyaluronic acid, attracts and binds water molecules to add volume and hydrate the skin. This can smooth out wrinkles and fine lines, and give the face a more youthful appearance.
What Types Of Dermal Fillers Are There?
Fillers can be divided into two main categories: temporary and long-term.
Temporary Fillers
Temporary fillers, such as hyaluronic acid, are designed to last for several months and are often used to temporarily plump up and reduce the appearance of wrinkles around the mouth and eyes.
Another popular temporary filler is calcium hydroxylapatite, which can last for upto 15 months. It is another gel-like substance that is mineral based.
Long-Term Fillers
Long-term fillers, such as poly-L-lactic acid, are designed to last longer and are used to fill more severe wrinkles and deep creases, such as those found on the forehead and around the nose. Additionally, some dermal fillers can be used to contour and reshape the face, such as cheek augmentation, jawline sculpting, and chin augmentation.
Autologous fat injections are the only injectable filler treatment that requires surgery, but results can last for many years.
What Conditions Do Dermal Fillers Treat?
Dermal fillers are used to address a variety of skin concerns, including wrinkles, fine lines, sagging skin, and acne scars. Fillers can be used to plump and fill in volume-deficient areas of the face, such as lips, cheeks, and forehead. They can also be used to contour and reshape facial areas, such as the nose or chin. Dermal fillers are also effective for treating dark circles and hollows under the eyes and can be used for hand rejuvenation. Finally, fillers can be used to subtly enhance and define facial features, such as the jawline and lips.
How Many Treatments Do I Need?
The number of injections needed for dermal filler treatments varies depending on the desired outcome. Generally, the more dermal filler is used, the more dramatic the effect will be. However, a skilled professional can create a natural look with just a few well-placed injections. Depending on the area to be treated and the extent of the desired change, it may take anywhere from one to several injections to achieve the desired result.
How Long Do Treatments Last?
The lifespan of your results comes down to a variety of factors, including underlying skin conditions and the type of filler used. Results can last anywhere from 3 months to several years.
How Can I Maximise My Results?
Dermal fillers can help you achieve younger, healthier looking skin when performed as a standalone treatment, but for maximum results you need a personalised, tailored treatment plan.

What Are The Benefits Of Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are a non-invasive cosmetic procedure used to restore volume and fullness to the face. They are used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, restore facial contours, and improve overall facial volume. The main benefits of dermal fillers include:
- Reducing the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and other signs of aging
- Enhancing facial features such as lips, cheeks, and chin
- Plumping and contouring facial features to achieve a more youthful appearance
- Helping to restore lost facial volume
- Improving overall skin texture and elasticity
- Quick and easy treatment with minimal risk and no downtime
- Long-lasting results with proper maintenance
What Are The Risks Of Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are a popular form of cosmetic treatment used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. However, as with all medical treatments, there are a few risks associated with dermal fillers.
The most common side effects of dermal fillers are redness and swelling at the injection site, which usually subsides within a few days. There is also the possibility of an allergic reaction to the injectable material, as well as some risks related to the injection technique, such as infection, pain, and bruising.
In rare cases, dermal fillers can cause more serious complications, such as skin necrosis (the death of skin cells due to lack of oxygen) and granulomas (bumps that can appear at the injection site). In addition, dermal fillers can sometimes migrate to other parts of the body, which can lead to an asymmetrical appearance.
It is important to consult with a qualified physician before undergoing any kind of cosmetic treatment, including dermal fillers. A physician will be able to provide advice on the best course of action, as well as assess the risks associated with the procedure.
What Is Recovery Like After Dermal Fillers?
Recovery after dermal fillers is usually quite straightforward. Most patients notice some mild swelling and redness in the injected area, but this should subside within a few hours. In some cases, there can be bruising and tenderness. It is important to avoid any strenuous activities or heat related treatments, such as hot baths or saunas, for at least 24 hours after the procedure.
In general, the effects of dermal fillers can be noticed immediately and will continue to improve over the course of the next few weeks. To ensure optimal results, patients should follow their doctor’s post-treatment instructions carefully. This includes avoiding direct sunlight, refraining from picking or rubbing the area, and avoiding strenuous physical activities.
It is also important to note that results may not be permanent. Depending on the type of filler used and the area treated, the effects may last anywhere from 6 months to a couple of years. Your doctor can provide more information on the expected duration of results.
Anti Wrinkle Injections v Dermal Fillers?
Anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers are two different treatments that can be used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and improve the overall texture of the skin.
Anti-wrinkle injections are designed to relax the facial muscles that cause wrinkles. By blocking the nerve signals, these injections can help reduce the appearance of frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead wrinkles. Typically, the effects of anti-wrinkle injections last for up to four months.
Dermal fillers are a substance that is injected into the skin to add volume and fullness. Dermal fillers can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, lines, and folds. They can also be used to enhance facial features, such as the cheeks, lips, and chin. The effects of dermal fillers last for up to six months.

What Is Facial Sculpting?
The cosmetic treatment of facial sculpting, commonly referred to as facial contouring, involves altering the face to facial features. By changing the features of the face using a variety of procedures, the aim is to produce a more defined and aesthetically acceptable facial structure.
Many issues can be addressed by facial sculpting, such as asymmetry, sagging skin, volume loss, wrinkles, and fine lines.
It is a treatment that is far less invasive than a face lift, and the results can last up to 2 years.
Our Sculpting treatment is a type of dermal filler that is used for facial rejuvenation. It is made of poly-L-lactic acid, which is a biodegradable and biocompatible material that stimulates the body’s own collagen production.
When the treatment is injected into the skin, it gradually rebuilds the skin’s natural collagen, helping to lessen the appearance of lines, wrinkles, and hollow spots on the face. Deeper creases and folds can be effectively treated with facial sculpting, which also enhances facial volume and contouring.
This procedure takes time to work, in contrast to other dermal fillers. Instead, it gradually increases collagen production in the body over the course of several weeks to months. Sculpting injections often produce results that last for up to two years.
What Are The Benefits Of Facial Sculpting?
Facial sculpting injections offer several benefits for those seeking to improve their appearance. Some of the key benefits include:
Improved Appearance of Wrinkles and Fine Lines: Facial sculpting injections can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the face, giving the skin a smoother, more youthful appearance.
Enhanced Volume and Contouring of Facial Features: Dermal fillers and other facial sculpting injections can add volume to hollow areas of the face, such as the cheeks and under the eyes. This can help to contour the face and improve its overall shape and structure.
Minimal Downtime and Quick Recovery: Most facial sculpting injections are non-surgical and require little to no downtime, allowing individuals to resume their normal activities soon after treatment.
Long-Lasting Results: Many types of facial sculpting injections offer long-lasting results, with effects that can last for several months to years depending on the type of injection used.
Boost in Self-Confidence: By improving the appearance of the face, facial sculpting injections can boost self-confidence and improve overall quality of life.
It is important to note that the results of facial sculpting injections can vary depending on the individual’s unique needs and goals.
How Is Facial Sculpting Done?
The Sculpting substance (PLLA) is injected deep into the skin with a fine needle and targeted at the areas in need of treatment. This stimulates natural collagen production.
How Long Will My Results Last?
Facial Sculpting is an alternate treatment for restoring a youthful and natural looking appearance and great results are often achieved with a series of treatments. Each treatment may show subtle changes but can last longer than other methods – and in cases up to 24 months.
Are There Any Risks Associated With Facial Sculpting?
All invasive procedures carry some element of risk. Cosmetic injections should only be carried by a registered medical professional AND a practitioner highly trained in cosmetic injections. Dr Saliba has undergone multiple training courses, both here in Australia as well as Milan in Italy and Athens in Greece .
What Is Recovery Like After Facial Sculpting?
Generally, there is little downtime, although some bruising or swelling around the treated area can occur and last for up to a week. Dr Saliba and her team can advise of likely potential downtime that may affect your personal and social plans for instance.
What Should I Do Next?
We insist on seeing all patients for a detailed consultation as a first step. Please book your private consultation with Dr Saliba at her Caringbah clinic.
What Is Vaginal Rejuvenation?
Vaginal rejuvenation, sometimes referred to as vaginal tightening or intimate rejuvenation, is a non-invasive procedure that can treat a variety of issues facing women as their vagina changes with age and key milestones (such as childbirth or menopause), including Stress Urinary Incontinence, dryness, vaginal tightness, recurring infection and more.
What Is Femilift?
FemiLift is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure used for vaginal rejuvenation and tightening. It uses a CO2 laser to stimulate collagen production and improve the overall tone and tightness of the vaginal tissues.
Unlike other surgical procedures, the FemiLift treatment can be done in an outpatient location. This means at the doctors office! So no need to commit to a hospital. There are very little to none side-effects and practically no downtime.
Why Choose Femilift?
When it comes to vaginal rejuvenation there are a few options, however at Le Sands Clinic we prefer FemiLift, for a number of reasons:
- 100% Safe: Clinically proven, cutting-edge technology; hygienic disposable probe for individual use.
- Effective: Immediate results that make a difference.
- Versatile: Treats common female health conditions; two sizes for varying anatomical fit.
- Outpatient Environment: Quick, minimally invasive, minimal downtime, no bleeding or pain.
- Part of your Life: Easily integrated into routine healthcare and lifestyle management.
What Does Vaginal Rejuvenation Treat?
Vaginal rejuvenation can treat several conditions related to the vagina, including:
- Vaginal looseness: surgery or laser treatments to tighten the vaginal muscles.
- Vaginal dryness: laser treatments to improve vaginal moisture levels.
- Stress urinary incontinence: surgery to support the urethra and bladder to treat leakage during physical activity.
- Painful sexual intercourse: laser treatments to improve vaginal lubrication and reduce pain during intercourse.
How Does Femilift Work?
Like skin, vaginal tissue is made up of collagen fibers which give it strength and flexibility.
FemiLift uses the clinically established CO2 laser technology to gently heat vaginal tissue, contracting existing fibers and stimulating the formation of new collagen.
Using a hand-held device, the treatment is delivered with care and precision.
The FemiLift treatment improves the functionality of the entire vaginal area, and each session lasts approximately 30 minutes
What Can I Expect After Vaginal Rejuvenation Therapy?
Recovery from a FemiLift procedure is generally minimal, with patients able to return to normal activities within a few days. However, the specific recovery process may vary depending on the individual and the extent of the procedure. Here are a few general tips that may aid recovery:
- Avoid sexual activity, tampons, and strenuous exercise for several days after the procedure.
- Use a sanitary pad for a few days to manage any mild discharge.
- Use ice packs to help reduce swelling and discomfort.

What Is Bio Modelling And Profhilo Haekenium Anti Oxident Cream?
BioRemodelling is a new multi level cosmetic injectable treatment used for contour redefinition and laxity remodelling of the face. It is commonly referred to as a “PreJuvenation” treatment, meaning, it can help you prepare for the aging process in advance and during the early stages of aging.
It can be used as a standalone treatment or with other treatments such as dermal fillers and facial sculpting and is designed to rejuvenate facial tissue as well as other areas of the skin. The treatment is used in combination with the Profhilo Haenkenium anti-oxident cream, which complements the remodelling by enhancing skin firmness, elasticity and reducing micro wrinkles
What Are The Benefits Of Bio-Remodelling?
BioRemodelling Can help
- Reducing the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and other signs of aging
- Repair dermal tissue
- Enhance volume replacement in conjunction with other treatments
- Maintains suitable conditions for fibroblasts, keratinocytes, and adipocytes
What Conditions Does Bio-Remodelling Treat?
Dermal fillers are used to address a variety of skin concerns, including
- wrinkles,
- fine lines,
- sagging skin, and
- acne scars.
How Does Bio_Remodelling Work?
BioRemodelling is achieved through a series of injections. The injections are administered to set points within the skin and the treatment is repeated after 3-4 weeks. Facial remodelling is achieved through a corrective action of natural and induced cutaneous depressions, and helps with the physiological process of tissue aging, primarily through skin hydration, alteration of elastic fibres and collagen and reduces dulling of skin tone.
How Can Bio-Remodelling Be Used In Combination With Other Cosmetic Injection Treatments?
BioRemodelling works at shallow skin layers, adding highly concentrated Hyaluronic acid at a molecular level into your skin. This can be used in combination with other cosmetic injections, which work at deeper levels of your skin.
For instance, if you’ve lost volume in your face, and skin tone, we would recommend firstly replacing that volume with either Dermal Fillers or Facial Sculpting, and then complementing this with Bio-Remodelling to enhance skin tone, and appearance of your skin.

What Are The Risks Of Bio-Remodelling?
Cosmetic Injections are a popular form of cosmetic treatment used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and improve skin definition and tone. However, as with all medical treatments, there are a few risks associated with cosmetic injections.
The most common side effects are redness and swelling at the injection site, which usually subsides within a few days. There is also the possibility of an allergic reaction to the injectable material, as well as some risks related to the injection technique, such as infection, pain, and bruising.
In rare cases, cosmetic injections can cause more serious complications, such as skin necrosis (the death of skin cells due to lack of oxygen) and granulomas (bumps that can appear at the injection site). In addition, cosmetic injection medicine can sometimes migrate to other parts of the body, which can lead to an asymmetrical appearance.
It is important to consult with a qualified physician before undergoing any kind of cosmetic treatment, including cosmetic injections. A physician will be able to provide advice on the best course of action, as well as assess the risks associated with the procedure.
What Is Recovery Like After Bio-Remodelling?
Recovery after BioRemodelling is usually quite straightforward. Most patients notice some mild swelling and redness in the injected area, but this should subside within a few hours. In some cases, there can be bruising and tenderness. It is important to avoid any strenuous activities or heat related treatments, such as hot baths or saunas, for at least 24 hours after the procedure.
In general, the effects of bio remodelling can be noticed immediately and will continue to improve over the course of the next few weeks. To ensure optimal results, patients should follow their doctor’s post-treatment instructions carefully. This includes avoiding direct sunlight, refraining from picking or rubbing the area, and avoiding strenuous physical activities.
It is also important to note that results may not be permanent. Depending on the type of cosmetic injection used and the area treated, the effects may last anywhere from 6 months to a couple of years. Your doctor can provide more information on the expected duration of results
